|2009-08-20 10:58:44 Allen Smith - Coatesville The Beautiful!I grew up in the 19320, 47 years. The City is still the most beautiful terrain in the county. Just look over the valley from the north, from Blackhorse Hill road. Try the same from the highest point on Oak street. Try entering the City from Valley Township at the bridge. Take a moment and watch how the city appears from between the hills. No other community in Chester County can challenge the beauty of this terrain called Coatesville. Now let's work together to as a community to make her just as beautiful socially and economically. I know we can do it. That's why I love Coatesville!

Everyone seems to pull together and overcome obstacles and hardships. From the original founding families, right up until the arson crisis- when one family is in need and reaches out for help, there are many responses form loving and caring individuals, regardless of race, financial status, or gender.
If we work together, even when there is no crisis, we will overcome many otherwise unsurmountable things, and end up on top!

|2009-09-01 15:52:45 Jim Pitcherella - A flood of memories“O, there is the Limerick Nuclear Power Station.” You can see it even at night. That’s how we could tell we were home when we lived in Western Montgomery County.
When you come down Black Horse Hill Road and see Coatesville laid out in its entirety. You can feel a part of it; you can feel inside Coatesville because you can see it all before you. If you live here a whole flood of emotions and memories can come out of just the few seconds it takes to come down Black Horse Hill Road into the City.

|2009-09-02 11:59:41 Valerie Wilson - Coatesville Can Be Safe Again!I have lived in Coatesville mostly all of my life, and while growing up Coatesville was a family friendly (for the most part) community. You could walk the streets with little to no fear of being bothered, you could visit your neighbor and enjoy a quiet evening on each others porches. You could walk to school, church or the park without fear of trouble arising.
It can be that way again with everyone gathering together to make it happen, to make it safer for our children and make it a family friendly neighbor/community again. Coatesville is full of good, loving and caring families, families that care not only about their own, but the "village" in which they live. I long to see the togetherness that was present when I was a little girl strengten again.

Yes, there is no reason Coatesville can't be that place again. I love Ash Park. I envision a day where on warm summer evenings, the community meets there for jazz concerts, local vendors and just a general good time. I don't think that would cost a lot of money to do. Sunday afternoon could be a meeting place for THE church (In other words all together.). The point is, we have resources. Let's come together and plan the large scale project. One such event coming is September 19th at Ash Park, called Coatesville Community Uniting from 12 Noon to 7PM. For more info contact Geri Allen at (484) 995-7935.
